EVALUATION QUESTION 4: TECHNOLOGY

RESEARCH

PINTEREST
Pinterest is a versatile, easy-to-navigate online pin board tool that displays visuals and text linked to websites. I created an account so that I could keep up with interesting, and possibly helpful material to help with our group work. I gathered images that had ‘apocalypse’ tags on them so they would have significance with the board and would help to give an influence when coming to make the posters. My pinterest can be found here.

BLOGGER
Blogger hosted all my other new technologies at the research and planning stage. As a multi-media social networking tool it allowed me to collate, archive, display and create research and planning with images, videos, sound files and posts that I could share with my group. I use blogger to document my work and to shows almost everything that I have worked on. My blogger can be found here

TWITTER
We have used Twitter as a group to research and to display our progress. We have made an individual Twitter to feed to our blogs. You can find my Twitter feed here.

YOUTUBE
We have used YouTube for research and we have also watched various videos on Media based content. Claremont has its own YouTube channel. You can our film trailer on the YouTube channel here.

PLANNING

WHATS APP I used WhatsApp to keep in touch when planning with my group. We used various group chats to plan recces and also to plan to film.

GOOGLE DOCS
Google Docs is a useful online software that was utilised by my
group to access documents that we all needed to work on. It helped us to create our Shot List easier as we had the contribution from the whole group. You can see Google Docs here.

TRELLO
We used Trello to make up to date ‘To Do’ lists. This was helpful as it allowed an accessible easy to reach list that we could see what was needed to do.
You can see my Trello page here.

EMAZE
Like Slideshare, Emaze presents work visually with beautiful graphical tools and accepts PowerPoint uploads.
You can see my Emaze page here

MOBILE PHONE
My group used mobile phones to communicate when we weren’t with each other. It allowed us to speak to each other when working from home, improving our efficiency.

CONSTRUCTION

GARAGE BAND
We used garage band to create bellowing sound effects at the very beginning of our trailer to create suspense. This was achieved by using the orchestra feature in 'Garage Band'.

DIGITAL CAMERA
Canon 550D, 600D - These were used to obviously film our trailer. Various different settings were used to help gain different effects such as apertures and shutter speed

FINAL CUT PRO X
Our new video software editing program. Final Cut Pro X gave us an advantage over other groups as we had a better quality editing software than another such as (iMovie). This is because it has a lot more useful plugins that let us create different effects.  I assisted with some of the editing in our film, such as the inter titles and the opening sequence

ADOBE PHOTOSHOP
We used Photoshop because we created our poster using it. It allowed us to edit the images in fields such as brightness and contrast, as well as allowing us to overlay text. We used photoshop specifically to edit our poster and to create the ‘2020’ image/logo.

iMESSAGE
We used iMessage to plan when to film and where each other would be when meeting up for a shoot, of if we were going to go out on a recce.

FACEBOOK
We used Facebook as a group to gain attention to the project and to broadcast our work to friends and family. I created the '2020' Facebook page which allowed us to broadcast our production and teaser images of the title and trailer.

ADOBE AFTER AFFECTS
We have used Adobe’s ‘After Affects’ to create different effects and intro’s to add to our production. This can be seen at the very beginning of our production with the production ident, "Roma Productions".

EVALUATION

SNAPCHAT
We used Snapchat to present out work to each other when we had finished it, to gain opinions and thoughts about the editing work that had been done.

YOUTUBE
We have used YouTube for inviting feedback on our own video work. We have uploaded our final product to my youtube, which you can see here.
